01NDT methods

Four methods,one Level 2 scope

VT

Visual Inspection (VT) – Level 2

Surface examination of components, welds, and assemblies using direct and remote visual inspection techniques. Includes measurement of surface discontinuities, corrosion assessment, and dimensional verification per ASME Section V and ASTM E165 standards.

PT

Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) – Level 2

Detection of surface-breaking defects in non-porous materials using fluorescent and visible dye penetrant methods. Capable of identifying cracks, porosity, laps, seams, and other surface discontinuities per ASTM E1417 and ISO 3452 standards.

MT

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) – Level 2

Inspection of ferromagnetic materials for surface and near-surface discontinuities using wet fluorescent and dry magnetic particle techniques. Applicable to weld inspections, castings, forgings, and in-service components per ASTM E1444 and ISO 9934.

UT

Ultrasonic Testing (UT) – Level 2

Thickness gauging, flaw detection, and sizing of internal defects using pulse-echo and phased array ultrasonic techniques. Used for weld inspection, corrosion mapping, composite material evaluation, and bond line testing per ASTM E164 and ASME Section V.
